Our Story
Built for music that doesn't ask permission (or forgiveness, historically).
Clean Yer Ears Records started the way most good things start: out of frustration, stubbornness, and a mild inability to let a good idea go. Tired of watching great bands get swallowed by labels more interested in algorithms than art, we built a home for artists who have something to say, the craft to say it, and, in at least one case, a working knowledge of the Moog.
We're not chasing trends. We're not building brands. We're making records (physical ones, digital ones, and whatever format seemed like a good idea at 1am) with people who take their work seriously, even when we don't.
What We Believe
We work for the music, not the other way around. Our job is to give artists the resources, the freedom, and, when absolutely necessary, the truth about how that mix actually sounds.
We don't sign fifty bands to hedge our bets. Every artist we work with gets our full attention, undivided focus, and at least one enthusiastic voicemail a month whether they asked for it or not.
We're interested in careers, not singles. Building something that lasts takes time, several arguments about track order, and more patience than we're generally known for.
